athleteGPS is a communication and athlete‑support platform operated by Athlead Partners LLC. Schools, coaches, administrators, and parents use athleteGPS to coordinate athletic activities, receive updates, and support athlete well‑being. This page explains how SMS consent is collected for parents, coaches, and school administrators who participate in school‑managed athletic programs. All SMS messaging is strictly informational and directly related to the athleteGPS platform.

Parents receive athlete‑support alerts only, such as urgent notifications or safety‑related updates about their athlete.

How Consent Is Collected
1. Parent SMS Opt‑In (Required)
Schools upload parent phone numbers because they already maintain this information as part of their enrollment records. Parents receive an initial SMS requesting explicit consent:
“Reply YES to receive recurring SMS messages from athleteGPS regarding athlete‑support alerts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.”
Parents must reply YES to complete opt‑in. No messages are sent until consent is confirmed.
2. Coach & Administrator Opt‑In (Invite Process)
Coaches and administrators receive an invitation to join athleteGPS. During the invite process, they:
Manually enter their phone number
Review the SMS consent disclosure
Provide explicit consent by checking the consent box
The consent statement displayed during registration is:
“I agree to receive recurring SMS messages from athleteGPS regarding onboarding, weekly updates, and athlete‑support alerts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.”
Consent is never implied, pre‑checked, or shared. Users must take an affirmative action to opt in.
